Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about generating product images, ads, and brand assets with Picmato.
Picmato, answered
What is Picmato?
Picmato is an AI creative studio for e-commerce sellers. Paste an Amazon, Flipkart, or Meesho product URL (or upload photos) and it generates marketplace-ready listing images, brand kits, brand characters, and multi-format social ads. You pick from 44 listing shot types and output at up to 4K, with zero design skills needed.
How does Picmato work?
Start from a product URL or your own photos, pick styles and formats, and Picmato generates a full set of images and ads in minutes. Review the results, regenerate anything you want to change, and export compliant, high-resolution files ready to upload to your marketplace and social channels.
Which marketplaces does Picmato support?
Picmato is built for Amazon and Flipkart sellers, generating images that follow each marketplace's background, resolution, and overlay rules. The same assets work beautifully for D2C storefronts and social platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube.
Do I need design or Photoshop skills to use Picmato?
Not at all. Picmato is made for sellers and marketers, not designers. The work that normally needs Photoshop or Canva is replaced by generation: you pick the shot type and the format, and Picmato builds the image. You generate and export instead of editing by hand.
What image formats can I upload, and what does Picmato output?
You can upload common image types like JPG, PNG, WebP, and modern formats such as HEIC from iPhones. Picmato normalizes your uploads automatically before processing and exports high-resolution images up to 4K, ready for marketplaces and ad channels.
Can Picmato create pure white background images for Amazon?
Yes. The main-image shot type is directed to a plain white studio background, which is what Amazon, Flipkart, and Meesho expect for a primary image. Picmato generates the shot rather than cutting out your original, so the result is a fresh studio image. AI renderers do not guarantee an exact RGB value, so check it with a colour picker before you upload.
What resolution are Picmato's images?
Picmato exports images in up to 4K, which beats Amazon's recommended 1,600px-on-the-longest-side guideline for zoom. High resolution lets shoppers zoom right in on the detail page without your images going blurry.
What social media ad formats does Picmato support?
Picmato generates creatives in 1:1 (square), 16:9 (landscape), and 9:16 (vertical). That covers feed posts, YouTube, and stories and reels across Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube, all from a single generation.
How much does Picmato cost?
Every Picmato plan includes a monthly credit allowance. The free plan gives you 100 credits a month at 1K output. Credits renew each month and do not carry over, so the plan you pick is the volume you get each month rather than a balance that accumulates. Paid plans add more monthly credits, and Pro and Max add 2K and 4K output: $19, $49 or $99 a month. A paid plan covers one month and does not renew automatically - when it lapses the account returns to Free.
Is there a free version of Picmato?
Yes. The free plan gives you 100 credits a month (about ten images at 1K), which is enough to try listing images and creatives on a real product. Credits renew monthly and do not carry over.
Does Picmato keep my branding consistent?
Yes. Picmato can generate a brand kit (your colors, typography, and visual style) from a URL and apply it to every asset you create. Pair that with reusable brand characters and your listings, ads, and social posts all stay visually consistent.
Can Picmato generate marketing ads, not just listing images?
Yes. Alongside marketplace listing images, Picmato generates multi-format social and ad creatives tuned for Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube, including A/B test variants. One product can produce both your listing set and your ad set in the same run.
Can I use AI-generated images on Amazon and Flipkart?
Yes. Neither Amazon nor Flipkart publishes a rule banning AI-generated images; both judge images on quality and accuracy, not on how they were made. Amazon requires that all images accurately represent the product for sale, and it even ships its own AI image generator for sellers. The safe pattern: keep your real product as the base and let AI handle backgrounds and context. Picmato works from your real product and bakes marketplace rules into each shot brief, so the image is generated correctly in the first place.
Can I use the images Picmato generates commercially?
Yes. Everything you generate in Picmato is for your business to use: marketplace listings, your D2C store, paid ads, and social posts. Your side of the deal is accuracy. Marketplace and advertising rules require images to truthfully represent the actual product no matter how they were made, so keep AI to backgrounds and styling, not the product itself. Picmato is built around that principle.
How many credits does one Picmato image cost?
One image costs 10 to 50 credits, based on output resolution: 10 credits for 1K, 25 for 2K, and 50 for 4K. Brand characters cost 50 credits each, and video renders are 10 credits per second. If a generation fails, the credits come back to your balance automatically, so you only pay for results.
Do Picmato credits expire?
Yes. Credits are a monthly allowance that comes with your plan: they renew on your account's own monthly anniversary and unused credits do not carry over. That applies on every plan, including the free one. It means the plan you choose is the volume you get each month rather than a balance that accumulates, so pick the allowance that covers your busiest month rather than your average one.
Does Picmato work for Shopify and other platforms?
Yes, anywhere images work. Picmato's import and shot planning are built for Amazon, Flipkart, and Meesho, but every export is a standard image file at 1K, 2K, or 4K in 1:1, 4:5, 16:9, or 9:16. That makes the same assets drop-in ready for Shopify or any D2C storefront, plus Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube. There is no Shopify import or push; you download and upload.
Is my product data safe with Picmato?
Yes, your product data stays yours. Picmato uses the URLs, photos, and brand assets you provide to power generations inside your own workspace, and you control what you upload and which results you keep. Nothing about the workflow requires handing over anything beyond a product link or photo. For detailed questions about data handling, read Picmato's terms or write to business@picmato.com.
